Terms and Conditions for use of restricted access ENFSI intranet site

This intranet site is operated by the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (the "ENFSI"). Our principal place of Business “ENFSI Secreatriat” is at  Al. Wyzwolenia 3-5/29

Please read this section carefully as it contains the legal terms and conditions (the "Terms and Conditions") that you agree to when you use this restricted access section of this site. Note that these Terms and Conditions are different to and supersede those of the unrestricted access area.



This section of the site requires you to register and provide certain data to us. When doing this you agree to provide true, accurate and complete information about yourself. You must also maintain and promptly update this information so that it continues to be true, accurate and complete.


Security Information

You have been allocated a user name (recognised e-mail) and password as Security Information. You will be responsible for selecting a new password when you register on this site. You must ensure that none of your Security Information is disclosed to anyone because you will be responsible for all activities which occur when someone is logged in using your Security Information. It is your responsibility to immediately notify us of any unauthorised use of any of your Security Information or any other breach of security as soon as you become aware of it.



The materials provided on this site are potentially sensitive and are of confidential nature. You must not at any time make any of the materials available to anyone else without specific authorisation from the ENFSI Board. You must also take all reasonable care to prevent others from gaining unauthorised access. This includes not leaving your screen unattended while it is displaying confidential information and always logging out from this secure section when away from your computer. Additionally, other than these Terms and Conditions, you are not permitted to copy or print out any of the marked “Confidential” materials on this site unless the section of the site which you wish to copy or print expressly permits this, or otherwise without our express permission.


Code of Conduct

You are responsible for all use you make of this site and activities you carry out in relation to it. You must not knowingly provide any incorrect information to this site and must take all reasonable care to ensure that all information that you do provide is true, accurate and complete. You will be responsible for all information, including code, data, text, software, photographs, pictures, graphics, video, comments, messages, files, sound clips or any other material that you either publicly post or privately transmit to this site.


You agree that you will not:

- use this site for any private commercial purpose;

- post any content on this site which is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, vulgar, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive or material which in our opinion is objectionable;

- post any content on this site that promotes any illegal activity, which includes the provision of instruction for illegal activity;

- post any content on this site which you do not have the right to transmit or use or which infringes any third party's rights;

- transmit to this site any material containing software viruses or files designed to damage or disrupt the good working order of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment or that may in any way diminish the quality of or interfere with the performance of this site;

- impersonate any other person or entity or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity while using the site;

- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of this site;


violate any applicable local, national or international law or regulation while using this site.


We will be entitled at our discretion to remove anything which is transmitted to, from or via the site or posted on the site which, in our opinion, is objectionable or does not comply with these terms and conditions in any way. We will not accept any liability for doing this.


Ownership of Materials on this Site

The contents of this site are © ENFSI. This means that the material on this site is subject to the copyright protection of the ENFSI, unless otherwise indicated.

The ENFSI copyright protected material on this intranet site may not be reproduced in any format or save for any copying by a computer which use this site. If you wish to apply for an exception to this prohibition you should apply to the ENFSI Board. Any permitted reproduction is at all times subject to the material being reproduced accurately and not being used in any misleading context. Additionally, where any of these materials are republished or copied to others, this site must be identified as the source of the materials and the ENFSI must be acknowledged as owning the copyright in them.

We may provide links to other sites from time to time. These links are provided for your information and convenience only. We do not endorse or take any responsibility for the sites linked to or for the content of those sites. However, you must not provide links to other sites in any postings you make to this site as this may pose a risk to the security of this site.

Due to the confidential nature of the materials provided and the need to maintain a secure environment we also do not permit other sites to link to this site.

Intellectual Property

The names, images and logos identifying the ENFSI are the proprietary marks of the ENFSI. Copying our logos and any other third party logos displayed on or accessed via this site is not permitted without the prior approval of the relevant rights owner.


Virus Protection

Care is taken to check and test material at all stages of production. However, it is always wise for you to run an anti-virus program on all material downloaded from the internet or intranet. We do not accept any liability for any loss, disruption or damage to your data or your computer system that may occur as a result of using material derived from this site.


User Restrictions

Where you use this site or permit it to be used in breach of any of these Terms and Conditions, or the ENFSI  has reasonable grounds to suspect that this is the case, then the ENFSI may at its sole discretion suspend or terminate your registration and refuse any and all current or future use of the site.


Privacy Policy

ENFSI take your right to privacy very seriously as a data controller. Should you wish to see or amend any of the information that we may hold about you and your use of the site, our contact details are provided at the top of these Terms and Conditions.

Through your registration and use of this site we may collect information from you such as your name, email address and other contact details, job description and details of work that you are involved in, and any answers that you may provide to us as part of your Security Information. Additionally, we may audit and review all information that is on this site, which may include any information that you post to the site, and monitor any use that is made of this site.


Cookies are small text files that reside on computers that enable us to track the use of our site. We do use cookies, but only for collecting technical information for the purposes of improving and tailoring the site. It is possible for you to disable cookies within your specific browser options, but you will then not be able to access this site and it may impair your use of other sites. Applicable Law


These Terms and Conditions are governed by and will be construed in accordance with the rules of Polish law. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Polish Courts.
